Iain Spragg
Iain Spragg is a sports journalist and author with 20 years experience. He has written for a wide range of national newspapers including the Daily Mirror and The Daily Telegraph, while his book credits include Twickenham:100 Years of Rugby’s HQ, The World Cup in 100 Objects andCycling’s Strangest Tales. He is the co-author of Remarkable Golf Courses (2017), shortlisted for illustrated sports book of the year.
Mairi MacMillan
Mairi MacMillan lives on the wet and windy west coast of Scotland, brewing dark tales and even darker cups of tea — despite her son’s advice that five minutes is the maximum steeping time required. After an intentionally dramatic time at university, she left Glasgow’s urban sprawl many years ago, and now spends her days weaving romances containing characters that may or may not be inspired by some of her quirkier kinfolk.
When not corrupting perfectly good characters with morally grey choices, she can be found wild-swimming in a sea-loch described locally as ‘baltic,’ or nose-deep in books with heat levels to compensate. She’s currently plotting her escape from the everyday grind in a yet-to-be-acquired camper van, much to the amusement of her nearly-grown children. Her husband remains hopeful that one day she’ll get around to sorting out her clutter — and that he might be invited along on any trips!
M. R. G. Davies
Michael abandoned a successful career as a newspaper editor to write fiction. As an author, he completed Desmond Bagley’s thriller Domino Island for posthumous publication and has written two sequels, Outback and Thin Ice, both published by HarperCollins. His debut play Rasputin’s Mother won the Bristol Old Vic playwriting competition and subsequent work for the stage includes The Seagull Has Landed (Power Plays festival winner), MacHamLear (UK tour), Reality (Royal & Derngate) and the book and lyrics for Tess – The Musical (workshopped at the RSC). He has written narrative non-fiction for worldwide television, had short stories and poetry commissioned and published, and contributes regular essays for theatre programmes.
